Today, it is a modern museum, with a permanent exhibition for the 21st century: “The third dimension of the past – a view from the future”, which takes you through past centuries and reveals the rich past of the Valjevo region.
Muselimov konak is the oldest preserved building in Valjevo, erected in the 18th century. At the beginning of 1804, the princes of Valjevo, Aleksa Nenadović and Ilija Birčanin, were imprisoned in the basement of the konak, from where they were taken to the execution site on the bank of the river Kolubara on February 4, which was the reason for the First Serbian Uprising. Today, the konak houses a permanent museum exhibition dedicated to the First and Second Serbian Uprising in the Valjevo region.

The Nenadović Tower was built in 1813 by Duke Jakov Nenadović, and it was used for military purposes. In the same year, it was conquered by the Turks who used it as a prison. After the liberation of Valjevo, the tower was renovated in 1836. After many years of renovation and conservation, today this is a cultural and historical monument under the protection of the state with a permanent museum exhibition, and one of the symbols of the city of Valjevo.
